The Commissioner of Police in Yobe State, CP Garba Ahmed, decorated newly promoted senior officers at the Force Headquarters in Damaturu on Monday. Officers were elevated to the ranks of Assistant Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and Chief Superintendent of Police during the ceremony, attended by family, friends, colleagues, and the media. Addressing the officers, CP Ahmed emphasized that promotion comes with greater responsibility, urging them to exhibit dedication, professionalism, and exemplary leadership in their duties. “More promotion means more responsibility. The higher you go, the tougher it becomes. Strive to improve wherever you fall short,” he advised, particularly encouraging those promoted to Chief Superintendent. Among the promoted officers was the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkareem, whose elevation was described as well-deserved by Lt. Colonel Shehu Mohammed of the Sector 2 Joint Task Force (Northeast) Hadin Kai. “Congratulations on your well-deserved elevation. May Almighty Allah bless the new rank,” Lt. Col. Mohammed remarked. The promotions reflect the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to rewarding dedication and fostering leadership development within its ranks.
