Major Prophet and Spiritual Superintendent of Intercessory Mercy of God Church (IMGC), Aguoye, Awka South LGA, Anambra State, Pastor Austin Obi, has disclosed to the worshippers the real reasons divine power is vital in their Christian lives.
Addressing the congregation on the topic: Why We Need God’s Power during the Sunday service, the fiery cleric known for the potency of his prophecies, led the worshippers to read the reference text from the Book of Luke, chapter 10, verse 19 even as he explained the divine power and authority given to the believers by our LORD Jesus Christ to include but not limited to: “Walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you”.
Pst Austin Obi then explained why the devil seemed to be feared by the Christians thus: “People tend to fear the devil even when the devil has no power accept his dubious strategies. And one of the devils strategies is to weigh down the Christian’s prayer life. And once a Christian becomes prayer less, he/she becomes powerless. Then, backsliding and stagnation set in. But to have God’s power is to have the divine ability to make things happen… to have the power to drive the devil and his associated darkness away!
“The more reason why we need divine power is to overcome evil powers of this dark world. In today’s world, while we were asleep, the evil ones went about sowing tarse. So, we need power to be in charge in our environment; to control our affairs. Moreover, we need power to banish shame in our lives as power is an anti-poison of all time…
“How then do we receive the divine power? One sure way to receive divine power is to run to Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith. You can’t carry Jesus power and the devil comes to weigh you down. You can’t have Jesus in your life and be stranded or die like chicken, no way! Therefore, always try to be in God’s presence. Again, be connected to divine power by locating your prophet. For instance, I can’t lay my hand on you and the devil comes to weigh you down. Mbanu! Light and darkness has nothing in common. Always remain in the light. Don’t mix light and darkness and expect a sunshine. Our God is jealous God. So, we worship Him alone. Note this: That there’re fake Pastors means there’re genuine ones. The real men of God. So, locate and stay connected to your Prophet since God uses them to deliver His message of salvation. And the moment you’re addicted to the things of God and connected to His prophet then, you’re filled with the light of his presence and power as our dedication to the things of God determines His actions for us. Hear me: As you maintain warm relationship with men of God, know the limit. Because, over familiarity will be counter productive.
“Finally, wave your handkerchiefs. Shout you’ve a prophet!! I assure you, the evil strong man in your location, boasting of oppressing you with forces of darkness will be suppressed henceforth by God’s power you’re now carrying. Cover your heads with the mantles. You’re now covered with divine power! With your dedication and connection to this altar, receive power and remain untouchable in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!!” The inspired worshippers chorused “Amen!!” even as Prophet Obi declared: “Poverty is a spirit and we’re going to cast it out of the lives of our members during next Sunday’s service”.
Highlights of the action-packed service were one-on-one prophesy, deliverance, how did it happened testimonies, etc.
