Update On Tanker Crash At Nwalusi Junction, Amawbia By-pass Amawbia By FRSC

At about 4.24pm today Thursday 23 April, 2020 a Mack Truck (Tanker) with registration number NSH21XA, laden with PMS missed track at Nwalusi Junction, Amawbia By-Pass, as it was negotiating from Awka Onitsha Old Road, towards Amawbia Express. The tanker fell into an adjoining gutter with the front tyre(passengers side).

  1. The FRSC rescue team from Awka moved swiftly to the scene. The Fire Service were also contacted and they responded immediately. The area was cordoned off and traffic diverted.
  2. There was no casualty. The tanker was successful removed from the gutter and continued it’s movement.
  3. The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi advises tanker drivers to be cautious and careful when driving in the urban areas and should always look for a convenient area to turn due to the nature of their vehicles. He also admonishes road users to adhere strictly to NCDC and governments directives on staying at home and keeping social distance amongst other guidelines initiated in respect of curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
