UNIZIK’s 13th convocation: Emeka Offor, Others bag doctorate degrees

For their positive impacts in the society, three distinguished Nigerians
had been conferred honorary degrees by Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra state.

They are, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, (Obi of Onitsha); Chief Sir Emeka Offor and Ambassador Babagana Kingibe.

The vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, in his address, congratulated the recipients, while urging them to continue to be true ambassadors of the institution.

The vice chancellor, who thanked the federal government for its support to the university, also praised the staff and students of the institution for their continued cooperation and support.

Also in his address, the chancellor of the university, His Majesty, Da Jacob Gyang Buba, felicitated with Kingibe, Achebe and Offor on their conferment, stating that the honour was well deserved.

Buba also tasked the other students that graduated from the university to use the knowledge, skill and value they have acquired from the university to make a difference in any chosen endeavours.

While commending the vice chancellor for a praiseworthy administration, he added, “Your administration has moved the university tremendously forward in all facets; academic, infrastructural and administration”.

On his part, the pro chancellor of the university, Alhaji Azeez Oladotun Bello, hailed the graduands, stating that their many years of academic toil has yielded rich dividends. He commended parents and guardians, who have borne the financial burden and other responsibilities to see their wards through the university education.

In his response on behalf of others conferred with the honorary doctorate degrees, Babagana Kingibe, commended the university for its excellence in every area of education.
