Troops Neutralize 212 Terrorists, Arrest 317 Suspects, and Rescue 152 Hostages

In a successful operation across Nigeria, the military has neutralized 212 terrorists, arrested 317 suspects, and rescued 152 hostages over the past week, according to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba. He stated that the troops remained on high alert, particularly during the festive season, to counter terrorist threats. Key operations targeted terrorist leadership, leading to the arrest of high-profile figures such as Hamisu Sale (aka Master) and Abubakar Muhammad in the North Central region. Additionally, Bako Wurgi, a notorious terrorist linked to the murder of the Sokoto Monarch, was arrested in the North West. Despite succumbing to injuries, Wurgi provided valuable intelligence before his death. The troops also arrested 45 individuals involved in oil theft, seized weapons and ammunition, and made significant progress in the Niger Delta region, dismantling illegal refining sites and recovering large amounts of stolen crude oil. Overall, the military is focused on ensuring peace and holding terrorists accountable for their actions.
