The proposed Anambra state Rail Master Plan Is A Welcome Development.

By Ikechukwu Emeka Onyia.
The Anambra Rail Master Plan outlines a comprehensive rail network with black and blue rail lines.
The black rail line begins at the Head-bridge in Onitsha, running via the express road to Awka.
It also connects to Ihiala through the Onitsha/Owerri road. Meanwhile, the blue rail line starts in Onitsha, linking to Nkpor-Obosi-Umuoji road, extending to Nnobi.
From Afor Nnobi, it connects to Nnewi and also links to Awka-Etiti-Igbo-ukwu, continuing to Ekwulobia. The line then extends to Nanka-Ndiowu-Ndiagu, where it will intersect with the black rail line in Awka. This ambitious, capital-intensive project will be executed in stages, with Governor Soludo committed to its realization, and future administrations are expected to build on this progress.
The master plan also includes provisions for connecting the Omambala axis of the state from Onitsha via Onitsha-Nkwelle-Otuocha road. Additionally, the blue rail line will connect to Ndikelionwu and the industrial city in Ogboji, Orumba.
The proposed Rail Master plan connects the entire state and will be a game changer in bridging gap Transport Infrastructure. I have come to realise that developed societies all over the world, make movement of people and goods easy through integrated and coordinated transport system. One of the many gaps between developed and undeveloped or developing countries are differences in their transportation Infrastructure.
I hereby hail Soludo led government bold initiation on Rail Master Plan as the state set to push for integrated transport Infrastructure.
