Telecommunication Company pays WAEC fees for 500 students in Enugu
A telecommunication company, S-Mobile Netzone Limited, said it has paid tuition and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) fees of over 500 students across Enugu state.
The company maintained that it would continue to provide an enabling ground for youths in South East to be financially empowered, in order to be self-reliant.
The General Manager of S-Mobile Netzone, Mr David Abba, stated this on Thursday in Enugu during the launch of their products and services in the South East zone.
Abba noted that aside from making profit, the business venture is committed towards investing in humanity, especially the downtrodden in the society.
According to him, the move motivated them into paying the tuition and the WAEC fee for selected indigents students to enable them complete their educational pursuit.
The General Manager stressed that S-Mobile Netzone venture would not only provide a platform for youths in Enugu State to be empowered, but also ensure that the empowerment is sustainable.
This, he said, had made them to invent a business plan that would give some financial stability and financial freedom at the same time.
“S-Mobile has been able to identify economic prospects in the telecoms businesses in Nigeria and as a sector to create enduring wealth in order to build a formidable capacity to maximize the inherent opportunities.
“To reach and satisfy a massive customer base as well as create substantial wealth for all, hence our company tags line which says connecting you to value.
“We are authorized by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to trade on telecoms products and services.
“S-Mobile is a trade partner of MTN Nigeria, Plc, and has obtained a certificate from the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investments to distribute and import telecom devices and accessories,” Abba added.
On his part, S-Mobile Consultant, Mr. Uchenna Anioke, hinted that the business venture had concluded plans to empower 50 youths from the South East zone every week through its radio programme, S-Mobile Connect.
While urging youths to embrace the programme by downloading and joining the S-Mobile platform, Anioke reiterated that the platform would give financial freedom to the people, including the working class. (NAN)
