Sunday Igboho: Why Yoruba agitator won’t be extradited – Yomi Aliu

Chief Yomi Aliu, the lawyer to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, has given reasons his client cannot be extradited to Nigeria.
Aliu argued that Igboho cannot be extradited because of a treaty with Benin Republic on political offenders.
He noted that the treaty states categorically that any political offender unlikely to get justice at home should not be extradited to home country.
Aliu, in a statement, said: “The Extradition Treaty of 1984 between Togo, Nigeria, Ghana and Republic of Benin excluded political fugitives.
Igboho was apprehended at Cotonou Airport, as he tried to flee to Germany.
