Sports recognition award: Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Ejidike hails Sportsville

The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, J.P has described Sportsville Special Award program as valid, genuine and morale booster considering the integrity, experience and sense of responsibility of the brains behind the event.
The sports philanthropist who commended the MD/CEO of Sportsville Communication Services Ltd., Hon. Frank Ilaboya, a seasoned sports journalist and versatile writer said that putting up such an annual award event would spur sports enthusiasts to contribute more to sports development and promotion in Nigeria.
Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike who was represented in the 5th edition of the of Sportsville Special Recognition Awards held at Eko Club, Lagos by the Chairman, Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports and a seasoned sports journalist and administrator, Prince Olayioye Shola Ajide expressed satisfaction on quality of the awards and attendance by numerous sports legends, players, athletes, coaches and administrators with a red carpet reception at the venue.
He noted that sports profiles of all the awardees speak volumes and are unquestionable because of validity and volume of their achievements and contributions in the field of Sports in Nigeria and beyond.
The former President of Karate Federation of Nigeria, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike also noted with admiration remarks by some personalities who had previously benefitted from the Sportsville award as not being driven by monetary inducement or gains; rather, by the content of their contributions and sacrifices in the field of sports.
Ejidike added that Nigeria can be greater through the instruments of sports particularly building a stronger hold at the grassroots level which would be a virile springboard to a higher levels of professional sports.
The award event witnessed presentation to no fewer than 22 awards covering icon category, football administration, innovative, corporate bodies, achievers among other categories. The likes of 84-year- old FIFA Instructor and retired referee, Linus Mba, Coach Fanny Amu, Davidson Owumi, Rotimi Pedro, Terry Eguaoje, Emmanuel Osahon among others.
