A political pressure group, South East Elders Alliance for Tinubu 2027, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign, urging massive support for his second-term bid.

In a communiqué issued during the inauguration of its Enugu North Senatorial District chapter in Nsukka, the group said its endorsement followed a holistic appraisal of President Tinubu’s economic reforms and his commitment to national development under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Signed by the National Coordinator, Humphrey Nsofor, Deputy National Coordinator, Prof Damian Opata, Coordinator of Strategy, Enugu North, Prof Chuka Ezema, Coordinator of Administration, Enugu North, Dr Anthony Nnamdi Alumona, as well as Nze Dr Okolie Amaechi Sadiq, National Director, Media and Strategic Communication, the document emphasised that a second term would enable Tinubu to consolidate the developmental strides initiated during his first term.

However, the group appealed to President Tinubu to intensify efforts at easing the economic hardship brought about by the administration’s policy reforms.

They called for stronger actions to reduce the cost of food, transportation, healthcare, and education, stabilise the naira, bring down fuel prices, and boost security through digital innovations in national defense.

The elders also urged the federal government to extend the ongoing mining sector reforms to the Southeast, particularly Enugu State, which boasts rich deposits of coal and other minerals.

The Southeast Elders Alliance for Tinubu 2027 called on Nigerians to look beyond ethnic, religious, and political divides and unite in support of Tinubu’s re-election in the interest of national progress.
