Rivers PDP Leadership Crisis: Party Urges Police Neutrality

0

The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Chukwuemeka Aaron and his group to vacate the party’s state secretariat on Port Harcourt/Aba Road, citing a court ruling that nullified the congresses in the state and Aaron’s position as chairman. In a statement issued Friday by Acting State Chairman Nname Robinson Ewor, the PDP labeled Aaron an impostor and emphasized the need to respect the High Court judgment declaring the congresses invalid. Ewor also urged law enforcement agencies, including the Rivers State Police Command, to remain neutral and avoid supporting any faction in the ongoing leadership dispute. He warned that backing Aaron’s group would amount to aiding lawbreakers and undermining legal processes. The PDP appealed to party members and supporters to remain calm despite provocations, urging security agencies to uphold the law and refrain from enabling actions that breach it.
