Rev’d Udochukwu Jeph Okeke’s shortest sermon ever

Nostalgic tears ran down the cheeks of Rev’d Udochukwu Jeph Okeke, the Parish Assistant at Church of Holy Spirit, Awka on Sunday as he said his shortest sermon ever in the history of the Church since his one year and seven months stay.
Rev’d Udochukwu read Thessalonian 3: 16, which was his final greetings and it read thus: ‘’Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you’’.

He expanded the peace in to include congregations businesses, offices and whatever their endeavours were.
During his sermon, he thanked the Bishop of Awka diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim PhD, for finding him worthy to be sent to the Church of the Holy Spirit, Awka, the Vicar, Ven Dr Rex Kanu, Reverend Gabriel Adamu Priest Assistant, the Men and women as well as the youths and children among others, Udochukwu became emotional and wept, an indication of his love for the congregation at Church of Holy Spirit.
Rev’d Okeke who was ordained in 2017 by the Archbishop elect of Province on the Niger, and Bishop of Awka diocese, Right Reverend Alexander Ibezim and posted to St Mathew’s Anglican Church, Nibo came to Church of the Holy Spirit and found a family in the congregation. He has been transferred to St Paul’s Anglican Parish Nimo, Njikoka local government area.
He thanked the Priest Ven Kanu and wife for accepting him and wife despite that they were very young in the ministry, assuring that their prayers continuously go to them as well as his former boss, Rev’d Canon Jason Onyeakagbusi and wife. He said his family added a new child in the Church of Holy Spirit, Awka.

The service witnessed annual thanksgiving harvest of Uniformed organizations, Youths and Children with the children taken the shine with their Mango yielding apple tree.
Bishop Ibezim worships at the Church of Holy Spirit this Sunday 15th September, 2019 for admission and confirmation service beginning at 8: 30 am.
