Retired Policeman Kills Three, Dies Amid Land Dispute in Lagos

A retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, Charles Atideka, allegedly shot and killed three people over a land dispute before dying under unclear circumstances in Badagry, Lagos State.
The Lagos Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that Atideka reportedly ingested poison after the killings and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
However, his son, Henry Atideka, disputes the suicide claim, insisting his father collapsed while heading for police interrogation.
The General Hospital Badagry confirmed Atideka’s death but said no tests had been conducted to determine the exact cause.
Police have launched an investigation into the killings and the circumstances surrounding Atideka’s death.
