Reps Hold Closed-Door Session with Rivers Sole Administrator Ibas

The House of Representatives Ad Hoc Committee on Rivers State is currently in a closed-door meeting with Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, the recently appointed Sole Administrator of Rivers State.
The meeting, held after multiple delays, comes as the lawmakers move to assume legislative duties of the suspended Rivers State House of Assembly.
Ibas, who apologized for missing earlier sessions, requested more time to prepare his briefing, citing the need to settle into his new role. The session then proceeded behind closed doors.
President Bola Tinubu appointed Ibas following the declaration of emergency rule in the state, which also saw the suspension of Governor Sim Fubara, his deputy, and state lawmakers amid an ongoing political rift between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
