PSC Replaces Edo Police Commissioner Over Uromi Killings

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has removed Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin as Edo State Commissioner of Police following the killing of 16 Hausa-Fulani travelers in Uromi, Esan North-East LGA on March 27, 2025.
She has been replaced by Monday Agbonika, who previously served as the Commissioner of Police (Mounted Troop) at Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The PSC urged Agbonika to restore public confidence, address security concerns, and investigate the recent killings.
Agbonika, a 32-year police veteran, has held key roles in Interpol, Force CID, and Port Authority Police Command. He assured his commitment to upholding the law and seeking guidance from the Inspector General of Police.
