Police Promotion: Nine Zone 13 officers elevated to new positions

The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of nine officers of the zone 13, UKpo Anambra state to various senior ranks.

Out of the nine newly promoted officers , four Assistants Superintendent of police rose to Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP, two Deputy Superintendent of Police, Were promoted to Superintendent of Police SP, while three Inspectors got the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police SP.

The officers were promoted based on recommendations from the Inspector General of Police , Mohammed Adamu and confirmed by President Muhammadu Buhari.


Decorating the newly promoted officers at the Zone 13 headquarters, Ukpo, the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the zone, Haphiz Mohammed thanked President Buhari and the IGP for finding the officers worthy to be promoted in order to encourage them.

AIG Mohammed therefore charged the officers to be dedicated to duty, professional in their conduct and exhibit good morals bestowed on them by the new positions.

“We expect you to be disciplined, hard work and show patriotism as you go about your duty of ensuring the elimination over crime and criminality in the country.”

The AIG called on the officers not to use their new positions to intimidate their subordinates but rather supervise them while having in mind their loved ones and work ethics in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking on be half of the promoted officers, the only female officer out of the nine, SP Josephine Ihunwo thanked the Inspector General of Police and Mr President for approving their promotion even as she promised the AIG that they would do all their best towards ensuring that the Zone 13 is top in the country in terms of security of lives and property.

Recall that this is the first promotion of officers of the Zone since it was created few months ago.
