Osun INEC REC Sets Goals for Staff, Welcomes New Administrative Secretary

The Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Mutiu Agboke, has announced plans to commence Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in the state during the first quarter of 2025. Dr. Agboke made this announcement while officially welcoming the new Administrative Secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Segun-Osifeso Margaret Oluwafunmike, during a ceremony held at the INEC Office in Osogbo on Tuesday. He urged INEC staff to prepare for the challenges ahead, particularly the 2026 gubernatorial election, emphasizing the need for dedication and a proactive mindset in 2025. “We must demonstrate seriousness,” Dr. Agboke stated. “INEC is an institution of importance, and this must be reflected in our work ethic. The new Administrative Secretary must make her impact felt from the outset.” Highlighting expectations for the year, Dr. Agboke urged staff to adopt a professional attitude and a strong work ethic: Change of Attitude: He called for a renewed commitment, stressing that all staff, including Electoral Officers and junior officers, must focus on their responsibilities or consider leaving the job. Professionalism: Dr. Agboke advised staff to maintain a professional appearance and attitude, emphasizing that these elements enhance personal and institutional dignity. He also expressed concerns over security at the state INEC office and called for improvements, urging staff to remain vigilant. “Be security conscious and regulate your thoughts. Focus on the tasks at hand and avoid spreading misinformation,” he warned.
