Onitsha South Mayor Refurbishes Receptacles For Proper Waste Evacuation

As part of his effort to end the indiscriminate dumping of refuse, the Mayor, Onitsha South Local Government Area, Hon.Chief Emeka Orji has embarked on the refurbishing of all damaged receptacles in the area.
Fielding questions from newsmen in his office, Hon.Orji reiterated that incessant dumping of refuse must be brought to the bearest minimum stating that the renovation is to improve on waste collection and disposal in the area.
He emphasized on the need for packaging of waste by Odoakpu residents for proper evacuation, and advised other residents in Fegge, Woliwo and Housing to emulate them, maintaining that there must be a lasting solution to Indiscriminate dumping of refuse jn Onitsha South Local Government Area.
He also disclosed that more of the receptacles would be provided for proper waste disposal and collections, and warned everyone to desist from incessant dumping of refuse to avoid being sanctioned.
The Mayor further warned the residents of the area to maintain a healthy environment by cleaning of their drainages and avoid dumping of dirts into the drainages to avoid blockage this raining season.
