Onitsha Market Union Chairman To Empower The Indegents As Union Records No Death This Year…Lists Achievements

The Onitsha Industrial Iron Dealers Association OIIDA, Bridgehead Market is to empower not less than twenty Indegent persons, Motherless Home as the union recorded no death this year, 2024, the Union is one of the unions that made up of bridgehead Market.

Speaking immediately after the last weekly prayer for the year, 2024 in his office at the market, the Chairman, Nze Ikechukwu Okpala, a.k.a Ojionyeojihaa expressed his heartfelt gratitude to God for keeping them all alive, noting that no soul is lost.

Mr Okpala while disclosing this to Newsman noted that the Union lose many of their members last year 2023 which prompted him to made a sacrifice to God, promised Him of celebrating Christmas to their indegent members if his prayers were granted.

According to him, I disclosed my intentions to the traders during the closing prayers and they massively supported me, they surprised me, which means that the number to get the gifts might be increased depending on what would be generated.

“Today, I also asked God to bless our members seeking for the fruit of the womb, promising to do more as I did this year, and I believe him,he would do it and I will thank him again.

On his achievements since 12 Oct, 2021 he emerged as the union chairman, he stated that their security men are doing well now unlike before his emergence, there was cases of robbery, carting away of their traders wares mostly by their job men.

“I have installed solar light, repaired our market roads, built culverts, bought two generators for our union incharge of pumping water and our prayer group, rewiring of our union hall, re fixing of the windows and fans in our hall.

“I am now planning to install CCTV camera and to dig pits for our already built toilets which the former chairman built without the pits.

“My Christmas message for the traders is this, as we are about to travel for Christmas celebrations, I have advised the traders to abstain from anything bad, to love one another, extend the hands of giving, assuring them that their wares would be secured throughout these festive periods.

“I have meet with my Security Commander and we have resolved all the issues that would be an impediment to their duties, provided them with necessary gadgets and to ensure that all the electricity are off which I would also checkmate before leaving the market on 24th Dec.2024.
