Oladipo Assumes Office As AIG Zone 13

…Seeks collaboration to combat cross state banditry, crime.

Newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo has assumed office at the Zone 13 Ukpo, Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State.

Oladipo, who assumed office yesterday, seeks the cooperation and support of the people of the zone in providing credible information that will help to nip in the board the activities of criminals in the zone.

He further stated that his mission to the zone was to improve on the already existing security architecture in line with the mission and vision of the Inspector general of Police.

He said” I have not come to destroy the existing security architecture that has been placed in the states but to improve on it in line with the mission and vision of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun .

“The mission and vision statement is simple-to creat police friendly community engagement, rule of law abiding agency and in all, to creat good service delivery for the good people of the states under this zonal command and the federation at large.

“I am not unmindful of the situation in the zone. I have been quite briefed on the activities and efforts of the two state Government in tackling the challenges that has bedevilled the region .

Oladipo also harped on his plans to collaborate with neighbouring states with a view to tackling the cross state banditry and crime.

“I am here to collaborate and work together with the good people of the states under the zone with a view to reducing crime and criminality in the state. Of course, we are to collaborate with contiguous states that boarders the zonal command so that we can tackle the mance of cross state banditry and crime.

“I want to use this opportunity to seek the support of the good people of the states because the police do not practice witchcraft, we act on credible intelligence and information that are available to us apart from the ones we source by ourselves.

“The people terrorizing the states are less than ten percent of the population and so, there is need for certain effort and a deliberate report on people to reject and shorn violence that will not allow investments to operate full in the states

” We appeal also that the Nigerian police as lead agency in internal security can not wait, hence there is need for inter agency synergy and collaboration and we have state actors .

” It is our intention to galvanized the activities of every groups involved in crime prevention and security in the two states.

“We need you to support us for we to serve you efficiently and at the end of the day it will be beneficial to all. We therefore, urge you to always say something whenever you see something “
