Odogwu Emeka Odogwu celebrates 11th year wedding anniversary

Yesterday, Friday 17th April ,2009 was my traditional marriage. Igbo spiritual leader, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka , of Rojenny Tourist Garden fame, Oba, led a good number of the titled men in Oba, and other dignitaries to honour me at my in-laws residence. It was glamorous as NUJ leadership and members as well as Correspondents leadership and members made me proud. They came out in their numbers. Other dignitaries too were on attendance.

Today, marks the 11th year I performed the marriage rites of , Obialunmma Esther Nwadiogbu, the daughter of Pa Samuel Chukwunwike and Mrs Edna Nnonyelum Nwadiogbu of Umuonaga village Awka.

Coincidentally, my dad answers Samuel with Agunwa as his other name before Odogwu comes in. My mum is Elizabeth Ijeoma.

And today, being Saturday, 18th April, 2009, we wedded at St Faith’s Cathedral, Awka.

Then Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi and then National Chairman of APGA, Senator Victor Umeh who chaired my wedding reception led other top dignitaries across political divide to grace the occasion.

I was overwhelmed by the guest list as relatives, colleagues and friends from all works of life attended to give me solidarity. It was all joy. That time , I was known as Odogwu Champion. I cherished the name and it remains my sobriquet among journalists and old friends.

11 years after, God has been faithful and merciful. I present to you my only angel , who has tolerated me in the last 11 years. Please do join us in praising God Almighty for His continued grace and profound peace upon us…..Amen!
