Obiano has Improved the Anambra Environment

The Secretary to Anambra State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu has declared that the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has improved the overall environment of the state and lifted it from where he met it to an admirable level.

Prof. Chukwulobelu made the revelation today when he was hosted on the Governor’s Media Group programme – Meet the Media, held at the HOS Conference Hall, Anambra State Secretariat in Awka.

” When I came back from the UK to work in Anambra early in 2014, I felt like running away. It was rainy season and everywhere was dirty and filthy. Awka was in a very poor condition, today the story is different,” Chukwulobelu remarked.

Speaking further, he observed; “today, solid waste collection and recycling have been properly managed by the state government. They even work at night to collect the waste while ASWAMA has been repositioned to deliver better services to ndi Anambra.”

Continuing, the SSG who was before now a Professor of Economics at Birmingham University in the UK acknowledged that Anamba is the safest state in Nigeria. “Nobody can dispute that. But it was something else when we came newly. Today, I drive myself from Awka to Onitsha and back even in the late night. The Anambra environment has been more lively and liveable since Obiano’s emergence than what it was before him”.

Moreover, Unizik Temp-site junction Awka was a sorry site before Governor Obiano came into power. He awarded the dual carriageway from Awka to Arroma, the drainage channels and others within the first few weeks into his administration.

Governor Obiano also awarded and beautification of three flyovers in Awka, Akwata-Awka and Amawbia that changed the face of the state for good.

Recalling how his sojourn in government began, the SSG revealed that upon his coming to witness the inauguration of his friend and brother in 2014, he was appointed a member/protem Coordinator of Anambra State Economic Think Tank (ANETT) and later the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget.
