Notorious Lakurawa Leader Maigemu Killed in Kebbi
A joint operation by security forces and local vigilance groups has successfully eliminated Maigemu, a notorious Lakurawa terrorist leader, in Kebbi State.
Counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama confirmed the development on Friday via his X handle, revealing that Maigemu was neutralized on Thursday during a gun battle at Kuncin Baba in Arewa Local Government Area.
The incident follows Governor Nasir Idris’ recent visit to Bagiza and Rausa Kade communities, where he assured residents of enhanced security measures after six people were killed by suspected Lakurawa cattle rustlers.
According to intelligence sources, the operation was a direct result of the governor’s security reinforcements, with Maigemu’s corpse serving as evidence of the successful mission.
