NOA WARNS NIGERIANS AGAINST KEEPING LATE NIGHT

Anambra State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, Awka, today joined her counterparts in various states of the federation on her nationwide sensitization campaign on security consciousness on get -rich- quick syndrome and other four topical issues in the country.

Addressing the Anambra State residents on the importance and inherent dangers of get-rich quick syndrome and other four topical issues in the country during a road show organized by the leadership of NOA as part of the sensitization campaign,the State Director of the Agency, Mr.Edozie Ajaegbu, explained that the campaign is simultaneously on going in various states of the federation now.

He enjoined residents of Anambra state and environs to be security conscious by avoiding late night,adding that the essence of the programme was to re-orientate Nigerians to be security conscious, especially now the Christmas season is around the corner.

“Anambra State Directorate of the Agency is joining the rest of her offices in the country on road show on security consciousness and get-rich-quick syndrome”,he said.

He maintained that the the campaign was also designed to educate Nigerians on the need for them to form the habit of saying no to get-rich-quick syndrome as well as everything obnoxious means of making money and embrace hard work with a view to becoming responsible citizens of Nigeria.

The NOA boss, who spoke among other things, urged the citizenry to assist the Agency in spreading the information to all length and breathe of the country so that Nigerians will get acquainted with the programme.

The Deputy Director, Programmes,Mr. Remigius Obi,who spoke at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat,Anambra State,Awka,advised the people living with HIV/AIDS in the state to visit government hospitals around them to access free drugs.

He called participants to collaborate with government in her efforts to providing the required security network in the society, emphasizing the need for them to know their rights in order not to be intimidated by the lawless unscrupulous elements in the country.

At Arroma Junction, the Deputy Director Administration, Barrister Ifeoma Chijioke, warned those who are perpetrating evil in the society in order to make quick wealth,especially now the wind of Christmas is blowing to refrain from such dastardly act or face the wrath of law in the end.

On his part, the Assistant Director Programmes, Mr Ignatius Obiora, regretted the unsurmountable security threats in various parts of the countr today and advised the people to ensure that the report any security threat around them to appropriate security agency for immediate action.

Mr Obiora, who made assertion at the Solution Bus Terminal in Awka, however,admonished Ndi- Anambra and other residents in the area to shun any negative tendency capable of igniting any form of bush burning, stigmatization of the people living with HIV/AIDS and above all work towards supporting the government’s new tax reform policy with a view to stamping out completely the issue of multiple taxation in the country.

The campaign exercise which started at Engr. Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Complex, Awka, took the participants along the Anambra state new Governor’s lodge road in Awka.
