NMA Praises FG for Approving Staff Recruitment at Federal Teaching Hospital Lokoja

The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving a waiver and financial backing for the recruitment of medical personnel at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, NMA Chairman, Dr. Hassan Abubakar, specifically lauded the Honourable Minister, Permanent Secretary, Director of Hospital Services, Head of Service of the Federation, and the Budget Office for facilitating the approval. He emphasized that the move would significantly help the hospital in hiring more doctors and other essential staff.

Part of the statement reads:
“The NMA, Kogi State branch, acknowledges the efforts of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, in managing recent crises stemming from internal disagreements. We urge all parties to remain calm and allow the institution’s internal mechanisms to address the concerns.
“The Association remains committed to ensuring fair treatment for all medical personnel and will continue to monitor developments at the hospital.
