The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the recent increase in petrol prices, accusing the federal government of insensitivity towards the masses. The NLC warned that the hike, driven by rising global crude oil prices, would worsen inflation and contribute to the food crisis in Nigeria. While oil marketers refuted blame, the Dangote refinery clarified that the price adjustment was linked to crude oil price fluctuations. The NLC called for more inclusive decision-making processes and criticized marketers for exploiting the situation to undermine government efforts. The NLC also urged transparency and accountability in the petroleum sector.
