Nigerian Passengers Stranded in Togo After Air France Flight Diversion

Nigerian passengers aboard an Air France flight were left stranded in Lomé, Togo, after their flight was diverted due to bad weather in Abuja.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, raised concerns over the incident in a statement on his official X account Thursday night.
Keyamo explained that the flight from Paris to Abuja was redirected to Lomé because of adverse weather conditions. However, he criticized the airline for its handling of the situation, noting that instead of returning the passengers to Abuja once the weather improved, Air France allegedly planned to leave them in Lomé until the next day, despite the same aircraft scheduled to fly back to Abuja that night.
To resolve the issue, Keyamo engaged both aviation officials and Air France representatives, insisting that the stranded passengers either be flown back to Abuja immediately or accommodated according to international standards.
As of the time of reporting, Air France had yet to release an official statement on the situation.
