Niger Delta Monarchs Urge Tinubu to Sack or Restrain Wike

Traditional rulers from the Niger Delta, including HRM King Dodo II of Bilabiri Kingdom, Bayelsa State, and HRH King-Jerry Prebor of the Meinbutus Federal Communities, Warri, Delta State, have called on President Bola Tinubu to either dismiss the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, or rein him in before he escalates tensions in Rivers State.
Speaking in light of the recent Trans-Niger pipeline explosion in Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area, and the ongoing political crisis in Rivers, the monarchs warned that Wike’s actions could create further instability, potentially affecting Tinubu’s political future.
King Prebor stated, “Considering the unfolding situation in Rivers State, I urge President Tinubu, as Wike’s employer, to either relieve him of his duties or curb his excesses before matters spiral out of control.”
Similarly, King Dodo II advised the president to take the Rivers crisis seriously, stating, “Tinubu must act swiftly and not allow Wike’s personal ambitions to turn the people of Rivers against him.”
