Nawgu Comprehensive Health Center renovated

The renovated Comprehensive Health Centre Nawgu, Dunukofia Local Government Area, Anambra state has been commissioned by Governor Willie Obiano.
Obiano represented by Dr. Joe Akabuike, commissioner for Health Anambra state performed the ceremony.
The hospital was renovated by Nwokike Family of the Global Action on Mental Health.
He said that what Nawgu community has done is an act worthy of emulation by all communities in the state and noted that government will energize the hospital with all the necessary human resources as well as equipment to make it function efficiently and effectively.
The Traditional Ruler of the Community, Igwe George Okaa-Onwuogu, explained that the hospital was built in 1984, and appealed to the state government to send a Resident Doctor to the place to encourage patient’s attendance for it to work at its maximum capacity.
In their various remarks, the President General of the Community, Engineer Innocent Ifeanyichukwu-Ikechebelu and a U.S based medical practitioner, Dr. Jerome Nwokike, appealed for more assistance and interventions from government to the community.
Dr. Akabuike had earlier received medical equipment donated to the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku Awka and Iyienu Mission Hospital Ogidi by a Non-Governmental Organization on behalf of the State Government.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Medical Equipment, Maintenance and Functionality, Mrs. Oluchi Onyedikachi, was also present at the event.
