Most Rev.Dr.Madu advocates for a solemn assembly of Thanksgiving and Gratitude to God by Igbo nation, every January 15

The pioneer Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province cum pioneer Bishop of Oji River Diocese (Anglican Communion),Most Rev.Dr.Amos Amankechinelo Madu, is advocating for the entire Igbo race to choose January 15 as an annual prayer day of Thanksgiving and gratitude to God Almighty, for their survival as a race and it will please God to restore their lost glory with more blessings.
Dr.Madu disclosed that it is by the special grace of God Almighty that the entire Igbo nation were not exterminated during the Nigeria Civil wars, which lasted from 1967 to 1970 but 55 years thereafter, the Igbo nation have not collectively decided to thank and express their gratitude to God Almighty for that single divine favour and intervention that brought the war to an end. He said the Igbos barely fought with nothing in as much as the wars were fought heavily in the soils of Igbo land.
Speaking to newsmen in Enugu at the weekend, Rev.Dr. Madu advocated that January 15, which is observed as a day of remembering fallen heroes by Nigerian government can equally be replicated by the entire Igbo nation worldwide as a solemn assembly of gratitude and thanksgiving to God Almighty for their survival as a race.
He stressed that the solemn assembly will entail every Igbo people where ever they are, including those living in diaspora gathering in their various places of worship to sing praises of worship and thanksgiving to Almighty God with prayer points on our survival from the Nigerian civil wars and for the wars not to re.occur again.
Dr Madu faithfully stressed that the initiative is a prophetic message which will please God to divinely interface in the affairs of the Igbo nation once again.
According to him, the various socio economic and political problems confronting the Igbo nation as a race currently, stems on the fact that the Igbo nation forgot the idea to solemnize, commemorate a day of national prayer of Thanksgiving and gratitude to God Almighty for their survival from extermination aftermath of the Nigeria Civil wars.
He expressed optimism that God Almighty will intervene in all affairs of the Igbo nation, once the Igbos retrace their steps to thank and honour God specially on January 15 of every year in their various places of worship.
Speaking on the increasing rate of social vices across the South East zone(Igbo tribe) of Nigeria, Dr Madu stressed originally it is not the culture of Igbo Youths to indulge in crime, instead they learn skills that enables them to be enterprising.
He insisted that those borrowed ugly culture will gradually vanish away from Igbo land when the Igbos reconcile with God through the annual day of Thanksgiving and gratitude to God Almighty on every January 15.
He maintained that his advocacy for Igbo day of national solemn assembly is Biblical, Spiritual and a divine step to liberate the Igbos from bondage. According to him,It is the spiritual side of the much advocated South East Development Commission.
Rev.Dr. Amos Madu said his clarion call for Igbo day of a solemn assembly on every January 15, to be marked with Thanksgiving and gratitude by all Igbos all over the world is comparable to the ‘Jewish Passover’ an annual ritual of the Jews as recorded in the Christian Holy Bible, which still celebrated by the Jewish nation globally up till today.
