Mechanic jailed for giving untrue information on ‘genital” disappearance

A Grade I Area Court in Lugbe, on Wednesday sentenced a 27-year-old mechanic, Shedrack Zamdai to six months imprisonment for raising false alarm over the disappearance of his genitals. The Judge, Malam Aliyu Kagarko sentenced Zamdai after he pleaded guilty to tdefamation of character, inciting disturbance and giving of false information. Kagarko also gave the convict an option of N25,000 fine or serve the jail term. The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Stanley Nwaforaku, had earlier told the court that the convict conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace in the the public.

According to him, the convict accused Rabiu Idris, Badamasi Hamisu and Usman Abdullahi, all of Kurufuma village  of ”stealing” his genitals in Asokoro Police Station. He further said that during police investigation, the convict was taken to the hospital at Gariki 2, where he was confirmed okay. The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 391, 114 and 140 of  the Penal Code.
