Kalu Home Turns Political Mecca For Imo Past And Present Governors

Orji Uzor Kalu
The Igbere ancestral and Abuja residential homes of former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, may have become ‘Mecca” for past and present Governors of Imo State in the past two weeks.
Since Kalu regained his freedom from the Nigeria Correction Centre on the orders of Federal High Court, Abuja, three former Governors of Imo State, and the incumbent, have visited the political icon who also doubles as the Chief Whip of the Senate as he represents Abia North Senatorial District in the Senate.
It’s pertinent to recall that since Kalu was released, he has received high profile Nigerians and other nationals who have come to “sympathize”with him having been incacerated for over six months in the Nigeria Correction Centre.
Among those who had visited the former Abia State Governor include Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker House of Representatives, Deputy Speaker House of Representatives, incumbent and former Governors, Ministers, Senators, Foreign Nationals and state leaders of All Progressives Congress among others.
Kalu has however received more dignified visitors from Imo State among whom are five former Governors of Imo State, that is Chief Achike Udenwa, Chief Ikedi Ohakim,Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, and the incumbent,Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Former Governor Rochas Okorocha and his wife had equally visited the business mogul at his Abuja home shortly shortly after his release.
