Just In: Ven Obiora Uzochukwu now Bishop of Mbamili Diocese

The Sub-Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha in the Diocese on the Niger, Anglican Communion, Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu, has emerged as the new Bishop, Diocese of Mbamili after election.
Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu was elected a Bishop at the just concluded annual House of Bishops’ retreat of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion held at the Ibru International Ecumenical Center Agbahra Ottor, Delta State.

The House of Bishops at its Episcopal synod elected Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu, the Sub-Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha (Diocese on the Niger) as the Bishop, Diocese of Mbamili and Ven. Oluwagbemiro Fabuluje, Provost of Osun Diocese elected Bishop of Oke Osun Diocese.
While Ven. Oluwagbemiro Fabuluje will replace Late Bishop Folusho Taiwo, Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu will replace Bishop Henry Okeke who translated to Ideato Diocese.

Ven. Uzochukwu who is married to Engr. Mrs Chizoba Uzochukwu started his priestly career at St. John’s Anglican Church, Umueze-Anam, Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State where he later transferred to St. Faith Anglican Church, Onitsha, from there he was made an Archdeacon and appointed Sub-Dean of All Saints’ Cathedral, Onitsha in 2014.
Ven. Obiora Uzochukwu hails from Isulo community in Orumba South Local Government Area, Anambra State. He attended Bishop Crowther Memorial Seminary, Awka, Anambra State, St. Paul’s College, Awka, where he obtained Dip. In Theology and B.A Religion.
He also attended Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu; and holds Post Graduate Diploma in Management.
