Igwe Lawrence Nwofia Crowned New Traditional Ruler Of Eziagulu -Otu, Aguleri

Ndi Eziagulu-Otu, Aguleri, Anambra East Council Area, have crowned a new traditional ruler, Igwe Lawrence Anakpulu Nwofia.

The event, which brought sons and daughters of the community back to their community ensured they elected a candidate that replaced Chief Udoji Ikegbunem, who was among the suspended traditional rulers that went on Abuja trip.

Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye witnessed the coronation and reports that the the coronation, which took place on Saturday, September fifth 2020 at Eziagulu Otu village square and coordinated by the elders, climaxed when the second to the eldest man in the community, Ogbuanyinya Obuora Atuanya of Umunriabo village coroneted Igwe Anakpulu Nwofia.

Ogbuanyinya Atuanya charged him with the responsibility of restoring peace, togetherness, brotherliness and the development of the community, urging him not to allow the light they have ignited in his hands to die down .

The National President of Anambra State Association of Town Unions, ASATU, Chief Alex Onukwue, who is also the President General of Eziagulu Otu said the community has witnessed a new dawn with the smooth and speedy change of community leadership.

On his part, the Chairman of Aguleri Royal Cabinet, Chief Dominic Ndife maintained that Igwe Anakpulu Nwofia was chosen by the entire community for having contributed to the development and progress of the community, praying God for wisdom and knowledge on his head.

Contributing, the Secretary General of Eziagulu Otu, Aguleri, Chief Mike Enemuo assured that the elevation of the new traditional ruler was done according to constitution and due process calling on their people to come together to work for the good of the community and give their new traditional ruler full support.

Responding, Igwe Anakpulu-Nwofia, crowned as Igwe Ochiagha Eziagulu Otu, promised to ensure that the light, which Governor Willie Obiano brought to the community, will continue to shine.
He promised to be a servant leader even as he called on all to come together and join hands in developing their community.

The event was witnessed by Ojiana Age Grade, the Ruling Council, and hosts of other stakeholders while masquerading, traditional dance by both men and women added glamour to it.
