HOSTCOM Inaugurates Coordinators From 21 LGA Of Anambra State

Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas, HOSTCOM, Anambra State Chapter has inducted coordinators from the twenty-one local government areas of the state.

The inauguration  featured the 2021 maiden convention of the association.

Correspondent Amaka Chibuzor-Okoye reports there are about ten oil producing states harnessing oil deposits in the country including Anambra state, which was recently added under the Governor Willie Obiano’s administration.

The aim of the HOSTCOM is to join forces with government and its agencies, multinational oil and gas companies to create an enabling environment devoid of youth restiveness as well as wanton destruction of oil facilities in the communities.

Addressing the gathering at Professor Dora Akunyeli Women Development Center Awka, the National Chairman of the organization, Chief Benjamin Tamaranebi regretted that Anambra State has been cheated for years and deprived the benefits of an oil producing state and applauded Governor Obiano for his tireless efforts in affirming the state status as oil and gas producing state.

In an address of welcome, the state chairman of HOSTCOM, Chief Victor Emeka said the actualization of Anambra State as an oil producing state is a signature project laid down by Governor Obiano and commended him for placing the state in a world map.

Speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Sir Emeka Offor represented by the grand patron of the group, Igwe Chris Onyekwuluje of Umunya applauded Governor Obiano for keeping to his promise of actualizing Anambra State as an oil producing state.

Presentation of award to some individuals climaxed the program that attracted some state traditional rulers.
