HEALTH MINISTER ASSURES OF PRESIDENT TINUBU’S DESIRE TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE, QUALITY HEALTH CARE TO NIGERIANS

Prof Muhammed Ali Pate CON, the coordinating Minister of Health and Social Services has assured President Ahmed Bola Tinubu desire to provide adequate and quality healthcare services to all Nigerians noting that in line with this agenda, the ministry under his leadership has put all necessary measures in progress to make healthcare services affordable and accessible to all Nigerians no matter the status.
Giving this assurance while speaking during the official commissioning of the permanent site as well as the commissioning of Projects of Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi located in Akamili Umudim Nnewi, Nnewi North L.G.A yesterday, Pate commended the management led me by I Prof. I I Joseph Ugboaja OON The Chief MedicalDirectorr of the institution as well as other stakeholders who partnered with the Federal Government to put up most of the infrastructural developments in the institution adding that the Federal government under President Tinubu will continue working round the clock to ensure that the nation health sector is developed to an enviable height.
Earlier in a welcome address, Prof Joseph Ugboaja OON the Chief Medical Director of the Institution while explaining the mission of the management of the institution stated that the Medical School’s permanent site is being built as a 2000-bed capacity Facility constructed as a medical mega city model with a beautiful environment, well-tarred roads, and drainages, lawns, trees, green areas and parks, relaxation and sports centres. He also noted that they have completed and equipped several facilities such as a Trauma and emergency complex (240-bed capacity, paediatrics, emergency complex 200-bed medical ward complex, 200-bed surgical complex, 120-bed mother and childcare building, Radiology building, General outpatient department (GOPD) complex, Antenatal/VIP clinic, special treatment centre, Molecular Laboratory Complex and two oxygen plants.
He also listed the medical school challenges as shortage of Key medical Staff, Equipment, roads, Building etc even as he passionately requested the minister to give the Institution the waiver to employ not less than 1000 Medical staff as well as provide them with vital Key Medical equipment for them to excel further as one the best medical school in the country.
