Haaland and Odegaard Nominated for PFA Player of the Year Award

Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s prolific striker, has been nominated for the PFA Player of the Year award for the second consecutive year. He is joined by teammates Phil Foden and Rodri in the shortlist.
Haaland’s outstanding performance last season saw him net 38 goals across all competitions, contributing significantly to City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title. The Norwegian sensation previously clinched the PFA award following City’s treble-winning 2022-23 campaign.

Rodri, a pivotal presence in City’s midfield, not only played a crucial role in their Premier League success but also helped Spain secure victory in Euro 2024. Meanwhile, England international Phil Foden delivered an impressive 27 goals last season under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.
Also in contention for the prestigious award are Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard, and Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins.

In the women’s category, the competition is between players from Chelsea and Manchester City. Chelsea’s Niamh Charles, Erin Cuthbert, and Lauren James have been shortlisted, alongside City’s Yui Hasegawa, Lauren Hemp, and Khadija Shaw.The winners will be revealed at the PFA Awards ceremony in Manchester on August 20.
