Group donates buses, motorcycles, cellular phones to neighbourhood security in Nnewi
Nnewi Concerned Citizens has gifted the security apparatus of Nnewi with five Sienna vehicles, motorcycles and multiple cellular phones
The event, which took place recently at Anedo Hall Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Council , attracted illustrious sons and daughters of Nnewi.
In his remark, the Senator representing Anambra South, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah ,who is a member of the community, thanked the group for initiating such a wonderful idea in making Nnewi move forward.
He also explained some measures he has taken as the Senator representing the constituents in ensuring that Nnewi becomes one of the towns to reckon with in terms of security and social amenities
Ubah explained that security should be one of the priorities in every community, highlighting the mode of operation of the CCTV cameras and cellular phone he donated .
Speaking with newsmen, one of the conveners, Mr Ifeamunaeme Nwafor Orizu stated that the group is non politically oriented , rather formed by illustrious people of Nnewi that has the progress of the community at heart.
He further stated that it’s time they redeemed the community from the cabal that hijacked and thought they owned it over the years.
Nwafor Orizu regretted that some of the invitees did not turn up, pleading with all well-meaning people of Nnewi to come together and harmonise the town despite all differences.
Another convener, Mr Emeka Alutu expressed his gratitude to God for being a part of the tools that will unite and harmonise affairs of the community.
He noted that Nnewi, being the business hub of the state need adequate security, which prompted the group to provide the necessary tools for security outreach in Nnewi, advising the vigilante to utilise the tools provided for them
