Gov. Obiano reaffirms commitment to reducing unemployment

Governor Willie Obiano has given assurances that more youths and women will be gainfully employed and engaged in the remaining two years of his administration.

Governor Obiano gave the assurance during the National Convention of United Youth Assembly, U-AYA and United Women Assembly, U-AWA, held at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka.
The event has the theme: “Anambra, Our Collective Project”.
Governor Obiano who commended Anambra youths and women for their efforts which made the 21/21 possible, assured that his administration has many programmes lined up for the youths, stressing that because the world is dynamic, the world has evolved into the era of artificial intelligence, urging them to seek for job opportunities in the area.
The governor announced his administration’s plans to change the school curriculum to help students write Microsoft examination before Senior Secondary three and enumerated other plans to include empowerment programmes, scholarships, among others, and disclosed that the city of Vienna has offered scholarships to study in Germany, to 50 Anambra youths with the basic requirements of proficiency in German language.
The member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, who is the founder of U-AYA and U-AWA said that the gathering signifies unity.
While calling on Governor Obiano to help project a successor like himself, being a sterling example in youth involvement in governance, Obidigwe pledged their continued support to the governor for his numerous strides of development which has transformed the lives of people and citizens in Anambra.
In his speech, Chief Of Staff to the governor, Mr Primus Odili said that youth empowerment drove development, which is what Governor Obiano stands for.
Also speaking, member representing Njikoka One constituency at the State House of Assembly, Sir Pete Ibida and the Transition Committee Chairman for Onitsha North, Mr Patrick Agha Mba applauded the initiative of bringing the youths together.
