Fubara Commends Navy’s Efforts, Pledges Continued Support for Waterway Security

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has pledged his administration’s continued support for the Nigerian Navy in combating maritime crimes, emphasizing the importance of secure waterways for the state’s economic growth, environmental sustainability, and the overall prosperity of the Niger Delta. Governor Fubara made this commitment during the 2024 Ceremonial Sunset of the Nigerian Navy at the Naval Training Command Headquarters in Ebubu, Eleme, Rivers State. He commended the Navy’s efforts in safeguarding the state’s economic assets and reiterated his administration’s dedication to working with the Navy in tackling oil bunkering and pipeline vandalism. “We have consistently collaborated with the Nigerian Navy, providing necessary support and advisory input,” Fubara stated. “On behalf of the government and the people of Rivers State, I congratulate the Nigerian Navy, especially the Rivers State Command, for the successes achieved this year.” Acknowledging the challenges faced by the Navy, including oil theft and pipeline vandalism, the governor commended their efforts in addressing economic sabotage. He also expressed gratitude for the Navy’s role in national security. The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, thanked the governor for his administration’s significant contributions and called for continued collaboration moving forward. Additionally, Governor Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to attracting investors to Rivers State, stressing the government’s readiness to work with genuine investors to foster economic development and create employment opportunities.
