FCCPC to partner NOA to promote consumer awareness in Anambra

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is set to partner National Orientation Agency, NOA, to promote consumer awareness in Anambra State.
FCCPC Southeast zonal office led by coordinator, Mr. Nwafor, Anthony Izunna disclosed this during an advocacy visit to the Anambra State Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Barrister Charles Nwoji in Awka, Anambra State capital.
Mr. Nwafor said it was to synergise with the agency in carrying out the mandates of the Commission in Anambra State.
Among the mandates he enumerated include; organising campaigns and other forms of activities capable of promoting increased consumer awareness.
Mr. Nwafor, further stated that FCCPC Act of 2018 under which the commission was established has the mandate to promoting choices, and ensuring fairness towards protecting the interest of the consumers in the growing competitive market.
Reacting, the NOA Anambra State Director, Barr.Charles Nwoji assured the FCCPC team of the agency’s willingness to collaborate with the Commission.
He also promised to use the agency’s staff spread across the 21 local government areas of the state, as well as the community/ traditional rulers in supporting the mandate of the commission in the state.
High point of the visit was the exchange of educational materials between the commission and agency.
