Father kills daughter in Jigawa over disobedience
A 40-year-old father has murdered his daughter of 11 years at Acilafiya village in Babura local government area of Jigawa State.
A resident told Odogwublog that the incident transpired after the father hit his daughter as penalty for an offence she committed.
He said as a result the victim sustained internal injuries which subsequently led to her death.
Police Spokesman ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident to Odogwublog.
He said, “the incident occurred on Friday at about 09;40hrs, when a 40-year-old man, Hannafi Yakubu beat his 11-year-old daughter Salima Hannafi to death.
“The deceased was taken to Babura General Hospital for examination, where she was confirmed dead by medical doctors.
”Her corpse was released for burial in accordance with Islamic teachings”.
Shiisu said the suspect was apprehended and the case has been transferred to CID for discreet investigation.
