The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the Federal Capital Territory has deployed 4,000 personnel to ensure residents’ safety during the Eid-Fitr celebrations.

FCT Commandant Olusola Odumosu ordered the deployment, covering all parts of Abuja to protect lives, property, and national assets. Officers from specialised units, including Counter-Terrorism, Arms Squad, and the Female Strike Force, will focus on securing prayer grounds, markets, malls, and other key locations.

Undercover operations and surveillance have also commenced to identify potential threats. Odumosu urged officers to remain vigilant and collaborate with other security agencies while warning criminals against targeting critical infrastructure. He also encouraged residents to report suspicious activities, assuring them of a secure festive period.
