Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has appointed three of his special assistants as acting commissioners, following the recent dismissal and suspension of several commissioners. Franklin Ukah, the Special Assistant on Water Resources, and Patrick Enyi, the Special Assistant on Housing and Urban Development, have been tasked with overseeing their respective ministries as acting commissioners. Additionally, Dr. Sabinus Nwibo, the Special Assistant on Primary Health, has been appointed as acting commissioner for the State Ministry of Health. The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Jude Okpo, confirmed the appointments in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abakaliki. The suspended commissioners—Mr. Chinedu Nkah (Water Resources), Engr. Francis Ori (Housing and Urban Development), and Dr. Moses Ekuma (Health)—were removed from their positions due to alleged gross misconduct and neglect of duty. Governor Nwifuru has directed the newly appointed acting commissioners to assume their roles immediately.
