Cross River Governor Praises Progress of Key Infrastructure Projects

Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing infrastructure developments, including the remodelling of the Governor’s Office complex, the state library, the long-neglected Local Government Service Commission office, and the Governor’s Lodge. Otu made these remarks on Wednesday while inspecting the projects, commending the speed and quality of work. He noted that the redesign of the Local Government Service Commission office, abandoned for over a decade, would enhance public administration and boost productivity. “The new design and environment will significantly improve operational efficiency and foster greater productivity,” Otu said. The governor emphasized the importance of creating modern, functional workspaces for civil servants. “Equipped secretariats empower workers to better serve the public and improve governance outcomes,” he added. Otu also toured the renovation of the State Library, which is being transformed into a modern learning facility with dedicated reading spaces, computer facilities, and e-learning resources. “Investing in libraries is investing in our future,” the governor stated. Additionally, Otu inspected the renovation of his office, which has been under refurbishment for 18 months, and the newly asphalted Harcourt Street in Calabar South. He expressed satisfaction with the work, noting that the quality and standards met his expectations.
