Chief Abraham Otti Empowers Thousands of Men, Women in Umuchu, Akokwa

The country home of Chief Abraham Ikechukwu Otti was filled to the brim as thousands of men and women from Umuchu and Akokwa gathered to receive empowerment items to better their lives.

Chief Abraham Otti, Ikenga n’Umuchu, popularly known as Mighty Mighty, and Afuonu Umuchu, hails from Achalla village Umuchu in Aguata Council Area, Anambra State Nigeria is a cerebral philanthropist who has been consistently touching the lives of his people twice every year in the last ten years.

In an opening remark at the event, Chief Otti stated that his desire was to uplift his people out of poverty, assuring that more would be coming.

Chief Otti, represented by his Project Manager, Chief Engineer Emmanuel Emeh stated that giving the people of Umuchu and environs a better life is a commitment he has undertaken, adding that those who did not receive any item in this phase would receive in the next phase coming up in the yuletide.

Welcoming the beneficiaries, the Chairman, Achalla Representative Assembly, Nze Chimezie Ikeh described Chief Abraham Otti as a rare breed who has been using his wealth to touch the lives of his people.

While praying God to bless and keep Chief Otti, Nze Ikeh extolled Chief Otti for his magnanimity and prays God to gift Umuchu with more of such philanthropists who would share their blessings and wealth with the less privileged.

Also speaking, the Vice Chairman Achalla Representative Assembly, Ogbuehi Eroduchukwu Anulumkor recounted how Chief Abraham Otti has been making life better for Ndi Umuchu.

According to Ogbuefi Anulumkor, apart from building houses for widows and the poorest of the poor in Umuchu, Chief Otti has installed street lights, tarred about 2 kilometers of road in Achalla, and single handedly built the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Achalla Umuchu, to mention, but a few.

A list of the items shared to the people included 60 pieces of Daylong Motor Cycles; 1,200 bags of NPK fertilizer for farmers, 120 pieces of Grinding Machines, 150 pieces of Sewing Machines and 1 Shuttle Bus strictly for one of his classmates at Community Secondary School, Umuchu, 1992 set.

The event also featured talks on ‘Generating Income from sewing machine’ by Blessing Ekemezie, ‘How to Maximize the Benefits of Grinding Machines’ by Engr. Chinedu Amauwa, and ‘Harnesing the Power of Fertilizer for Sustainable Agriculture & Economic Empowerment in Umuchu and Akokwa’ by Mr. Chidera Obiudu.

Speaking in an interview, the Priest in charge of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Achalla Umuchu, Rev’d Tochukwu Akaegbo; the Special Adviser to Chief Abraham Otti, Mr. Ikenna Ifemeje, who is also the Ofeogede Youth Chairman; and one of the classmates of Chief Otti, Mrs Gloria Anyaora commended the large heart of Chief Otti and prayed God to keep him safe.

Some of the beneficiaries, including Onyekachukwu Ubaka who got a grinding machine; Godson Nwagbo who got two bags of Fertilizer; Mrs Ifeoma Umenze who got a sewing machine; and Chukwudi Ezennaya who got a Motor Cycle expressed joy to be remembered by Ikenga Umuchu, and prayed for long life and good health for him.

High points of the event was the distribution of the empowerment items to selected indigens of the various villages in Umuchu and some indigens of Akokwa.
