A 31-year-old Nigerian, Adimabua Chukwuka, has been charged with first-degree murder in the killing of a 60-year-old homeless man, Mario Ferreira, in Toronto, Canada.

Toronto Police arrested Chukwuka on March 22 after a public tip. Authorities allege he attacked Ferreira without provocation using debris, possibly from a construction site. The victim was found unconscious near the University of Toronto on March 20 and pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Trevor Grieve urged witnesses to come forward as investigations continue. Under Canadian law, a first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory life sentence, with no parole eligibility for at least 25 years.
