Business world is intriguing but exciting, says Ex DPO Egbochukwu

The former Divisional Police Officer(DPO) in charge of Nnewi Central Police Station(CPS) and Onitsha Central Police Station at different times, SP Ikechukwu Egbochukwu(Rtd) said business world is very intriguing with competitors trying to out do one anther so as to break even.

Mt Egbochukwu who successfully combated crime and criminality for thirty five years across Nigeria before setting up IKOBY Integrated Services Ltd. however noted that inspite of the intrigues, business world is still very exciting

He pointed out that there are many lesions for entrepreneurs to learn which he said can only be learnt while doing business and that such lesions can never be taught or learnt in any classroom.

“Business world is very exciting, you learn new things everyday that you can can not learn in any classroom. It’s a dynamic system which many people are afraid of venturing ínto for the obvious fear of the unknown .

“You meet different customers, suppliers with different attitudes and orientations, your workers too need special attention, one must just be on ground to ensure a cordial relationship between the customers and staff.

“There is always this price war in business, it is the duty of the CEO to ensure an equilibrium between the customers who may want to get full service for low price and ensuring that the company breaks even.

SP Egbochukwu(Rtd) pointed out that his experience as an officer has been helpful in business but added quickly that the kind of battle in the business world is quite different from the everyday war with crime and criminality.

He expressed satisfaction with the performance of IKOBY Integrated Services Ltd which has positively impacted the landscape of Oraifite and environs in just six months of operation.

The MD/CEO of the budding outfit however identified paucity of funds as the major challenge to full blown services he intend to give to the operating environment of his establishment.

The retired but not tired crime buster said with satisfaction that IKOBY Integrated Services Ltd has as its social responsibility make portable water available to the people around free of charge while most of the staffers are from the community, a development which according to him will make it possible for the employees to stay back at home and be useful for themselves instead of running to Lagos, Abuja and other urban cities where there is no assurance of securing a job placement.

“As a way of encouraging our staff, we have registered all of them in a private hospital while we are still working on getting comprehensive insurance package for them. We have become so prominent here that I am now addressed as “Oji mmaya eme-ogu”

He however said emphatically that apart from shortage of funds another problem employers grapple with is coping with untrained staff though certificated

Egbochukwu urges all those who are afraid of pursuing their God dreams to drop off their fears and live their dreams noting that it is exciting to be an employer of labor in a nation rocked with recession and other harsh economic policies.

The former DPO said expressed optimism that IKOBY Integrated Services Ltd will soon take her fair share of Nnewi market.

“We are not greedy, we supply goods to our customers at a very reduced price not because we don’t want to have greater returns like any other businessman but we believe that a little drop of water makes the mighty ocean.” He concluded
