Breaking: Kwechiri Group Inaugurated In Awka

The need for constant interface between the people and elected leaders through dialogue and contributions to government policies and programmes has been described, as a way to bring about accountability and good governance.
These were the views of speakers and respondents during the inauguration of Kwechiri group in Awka.
According to the Anambra Central Coordinator of the group, Mr. Nigeria Mbachu, the newly inaugurated Kwechiri group, will serve as a platform for people to engage their leaders, including those who want to occupy leadership positions, as a way to give the people a voice and articulate their views to shun violence.

On his part, the Anambra South Coordinator of the group, Mr. Uzor Nzeribe, explained that the group also seeks to raise political consciousness of the people through education to stop vote buying, become part of governance and hold politicians accountable for their campaign promises.
He revealed that the group has coordinators even at the grass-root level in order to focus on their core agenda.
In a lecture, a resource person, Mr. Nwike Nweke explained the importance of having a voice in governance and stressed the need for youths to organize themselves in groups and have a resolution on issues.
In an interview, a member of the group, Miss Ifechukwu Okoli advised the group to stand united to achieve its aims and objectives.
The event climaxed with the oath taking by members, signaling the inauguration of the group.
