Book Launch: Akande’s selfless service to humanity worthy of emulation–APC Chieftains

Some stalwarts of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday said Chief Bisi Akande’s selfless service to humanity is worthy of emulation.
The stalwarts gave the remarks in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the Public Presentation of the Autobiography of Akande, titled “My Participations” in Lagos.
Speaking, Rep. Mufutau Egberongbe, member representing Apapa Federal Constituency in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, told NAN that: “Baba Akande, a former Interim National Chairman of the party, has continually reminded us that politics is synonymous with service.”
Egberongbe described Akande as sound-minded educationally and morally.
Also, Mr Cornelius Ojelabi, the Lagos APC Chairman-elect, added: “The life of Chief Bisi Akande is a lesson to all of us that wherever we find ourselves, whatever be the sort of opportunities given to you, we should serve the people to the best of our ability.
“We can hear the sort of encomiums being poured by everybody on this personality, including the President, as to the uprightness of the man, how committed, diligent and truthful he is.

“I am highly delighted. This is a type of person those of us occupying positions should emulate.”
A two-term former Lagos lawmaker, Mr Segun Olulade, who represented Epe Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, said that Akande possessed great values that many should learn from.
Olulade described the autobiography as a must-read book for everybody who wanted to be great in the country.
He said: “People who want to uphold integrity, dignity and selfless service must read this book.
“We can learn from Baba Bisi Akande’s virtues like integrity, honesty, selfless service and strong belief in humanity and protection of masses. He is not corrupt.
“I will read it, recommend it and buy it for others to read. I will make sure I get the book for anyone that wants to be a leader,” he said.
Dr Usman Bugaje, a former member of the House of Representatives, said that politics required men of conscience and courage which Akande represented.
